The trust is a UK Limited Company that has Charitable Status and was founded in 2005 by three directors of a web design company - Gabriel Media Limited. As a company they are committed to ethical business practice and believe that we have a responsibility to support those in the world who are victims of poverty. The Company is a charitable trust and as such we have a board of trustees that meet to agree how the money raised is to be spent. We don't leave money lolling in bank accounts, there is no point as administration costs are borne by Gabriel Media Limited and out of the trustees own pockets.
Everyone deserves a chance in life. Most of the readers of this web site are lucky - they can read. Simple really as we take being able to read for granted. Education is a chance that can make a difference. It brings jobs and wealth to communities, brings down crime, teaches mutual respect and oh yes, it's fun! The Gabriel Education Trust has been set up to try and make a small difference to the very worst off in the developing World. 100% of the income the trust receives goes to helping those in need. So, how does it work and where does the trust get it funding from? Read on to find out more.
Gabriel Media Limted has written a Content Management System (CMS) that was designed primarily to allow primary and junior schools to create their own websites. The system is delivered with just example words and images allowing the school to then design their own site from scratch without any involvement from outside agencies and hence no big costs. The CMS comes with a domain name of choice* and website hosting so there are no sneaky extras to pay. We have naturally extended the features of the system so that Parishes, clubs and societies and small businesses can easily get a presence on the internet at the fraction of the cost of a bespoke website. We give a proportion of the income from the sales of the CMS to the trust. We are open about what we give to the trust and we would ask you to visit the Nomumbojumbo site for more information regarding this and the features of the product.
